Comments about First Impressions Ornament Kit:
Assumed the impression material would be some kind of ceramic, but it's more like a dense, malleable foam which results in a very light-weight ornament. Our son is still little, so we had enough material to do both a hand and a foot. The material created good impressions -- I'm sure we'll treasure these, especially as our son gets older.

I was very disappointed in this ornament. The whole process is cumbersome and makes a really too large ornament. I also thought the white impression foam smelled weird and didn't want my baby's hand in it. In a side note, have you ever tried to get a baby to keep their hand perfectly open while you stick it in something? I had to use a foot. All in all, I would not have minded if it was not so overpriced for what you recieve. Cute idea-bad execution.

I ordered this for my baby's first christmas. It's a cute ornament but make sure you have help when making the print. I opened it prematurely not knowing you had to use it right away so I ended up trying to take my baby's handprint while she napped and it was a disaster. I ended up doing her footprint as it was easier for me to do alone. It also takes a few days to dry so if you want to hang it right away skip this product. It's easy to follow directions and it has all the components you need. Overall a cute concept but have a set of extra hands to help you make the handprint.

This product was a waste of money. It was like working with very sticky liquified yogurt. It took 10 minutes to wash off my own hands, so I'm glad it never touched my baby's!

This product is poorly made and very, very tricky to use. The instructions say to work the glue product for about 5-10 minutes, we had to let it sit out for about 40 minutes and only then did the sticky clay somewhat work. Not worth the money, don't waste your time. Even when we did get it to work the finished, dried product is very flimsy.
So sweet and easy!
I loved using this for 3 years in a row with my toddler (hoping for a fourth this year) and plan to use it with the baby this year. The kit is very forgiving, unlike some plaster kits I used. If you don't like this impression, just squeeze the molding compound a bit, re-roll, and try again until it's perfect. It does have to dry for a couple of days, so there's no instant gratification, but I love this ornament! The only drawback is that it won't accomodate bigger hands, so my very very tall 3 year old's hands might be too big for it already this year! But otherwise it's perfect.
